Hariyali Amavasya is a Hindu festival celebrated on the no-moon day (Amavasya) in the month of Shravana (July-August). This year, it will be observed on Monday, July 17, 2023. The festival is also known as “Green Amavasya” or “Sawan Amavasya” and is dedicated to worshipping Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. On this day, people offer prayers, perform puja, and make offerings to the deities. The day is also associated with the start of the monsoon season and is celebrated by planting trees and offering prayers for the prosperity of crops and the well-being of the environment. The festival is primarily celebrated in North India, especially in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand.
