Mahesh Navami is a Hindu festival celebrated in honor of Lord Shiva, which falls on the ninth day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the Hindu month of Jyeshtha. This year, it will be observed on Monday, May 29, 2023. On this day, devotees observe fasts and perform pujas to seek blessings from Lord Shiva, and in some regions, the festival also involves the ceremonial worship of Shiva’s sacred bull Nandi. The festival is particularly significant in the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh, where it is celebrated with great fervor and devotion.
