Nirjala Ekadashi is a significant Hindu fasting day that falls on the eleventh day of the waxing phase of the moon in the Hindu month of Jyeshtha. This year, it will be observed on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. On this day, devotees observe a strict waterless fast and abstain from consuming food or even water for 24 hours to seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that observing this fast is equivalent to observing all other Ekadashi fasts throughout the year. The fast is broken on the next day, known as Dwadashi, after offering prayers and performing a ritual bath in a holy river or temple tank.
